Dionne Swift online Screen Printing Workshop

This month I started an on line screen printing course ran by the really inspirational Dionne Swift. It has been ideal for me as I can complete it in the hours I choose.

My final Major Project is well under way and I have based it on my childhood favourite book 'Princess & the Pea' during the design research phase I have discovered the love for the layering effect of the famous bed with 'twenty mattresses and twenty feather beds'

A up to date day look of the layering

My aim is to recreate this layering effect . So far I have created lots of mark making using lots of different mediums to take forward to a final piece

Using Brusho
Using Brusho
Using Brusho and Letraset ProMarker
Using Brush and sweeping strokes with paint brush
Using Brusho put adding water first to create the bleeding effect
Using Brusho but letting areas dry first
Using Adirondack color wash

These have been completed after I attempted the first tuitions from Dionne Swift on line workshop I am totally inspired and I want to create the above on fabric as soon as I possibly can !

Above are a sneak preview of my first attempts. What makes it so exciting is knowing I can re-create at home. The tuition is excellent and easy to follow........for me and my busy life the only downside is finding the time.I will be back I have a week off the last week in November so please re-visit and see what I have been creating other than a mess in my work room !

Road Trip June 12

Well it's official I need to write  blog's to contribute towards my final year of my Applied Arts Degree. 6th and final year of studying part time and I have enjoyed every second of it!

Finding the time will be the hard thing to be consistent and writing inspirational things but I will try my hardest.

This year has been mad to say the least. In June we took our son on a road trip to Canada then onto Boston and finally New York. I sourced the local Art and Design colleges just to compare to CCAD.

I found my favourite inspirational shop Anthropologie  the window display was amazing !

A couple of purchases were necessary well
it would have been rude not too !

As well as spending lots of quality time with my boys.

Thank you so much for finding me via the link from Simple Sewing Magazine.  I don’t use this forum so you can find me via the links below.  ...
